Please reset your bookmarks to go to http://theolmsteads.info. We have revamped our website some. Though it is still a work in progress, we hope you will enjoy the new look and navigation.
We have separated family stuff and my theology stuff. Also, you will have to re-register on the “new” site. We apologize for any inconvenience.
This blog will be removed on March 31, 2008.

For the most part, I have had the clothes in my drawers and closet since college. I have bought a few new tops or skirts since getting married, but the vast majority of my clothes are old and some even showing it.
For Christmas and my birthday I received some generous monetary gifts, and was eager to spend it on clothes. Last Tuesday, a friend from church called me and said that Macy’s was having a huge sale. We decided to go together early on Friday morning.
At 7:ooam I packed up Marissa and drove to Renee’s house. Her babysitter had agreed to watch Marissa, too. After leaving Marissa, we drove to Macy’s and waited for the doors to open. Once they did, we didn’t leave until 1:00pm or later! There was so much stuff on sale. Normally $70 dollar items were on sale for $5 or $10. It was unbelievable. I bought a dress for Marissa for Christmas next year that was originally $76, but I got it for $9.99! I found a beautiful red coat for $9.99 that was originally $129! I walked out with pretty much a brand new wardrobe. I had three garment bags full of clothes. It was scarry, yet so exciting.
I have been wearing all new clothes this week, except for my jeans, and those are pretty new because I got them at Christmas. Thank you so much to those who gave me money for Christmas and my birthday!

Last week we had some friends visit us. We met Nate and Katrina at Faith Baptist Church in Taylors. In fact, they were the first people from the church (besides a couple we knew from Pillsbury) to invite us over for pizza! We quickly became good friends. Katrina is a fellow education major, and Nate taught us a lot about web stuff. But the biggest thing we had in common was…ROOK! We would go to each other’s houses for dinner and stay up really late playing Rook. Usually, Matt and Nate beat Katrina and me. But a couple times we beat them. I am not a very aggressive player, so I felt bad for Nate when we were paired up.
A few months ago Nate received a call from a church in Indiana to be their assistant pastor. They moved up there just before Christmas I think. We were really excited because now they are only 3 hours away from us. We didn’t get to play Rook while they were here, but we will be visiting them sometime and will do it then. Marissa was kind of a distraction…
Here is a picture of Katrina with Marissa.

My sister, Bekka, gave birth to a beautiful baby girl this evening at 6:35pm. Scarlett Kay Nelson was 8 pounds, 11 ounces, and was 21-1/4 inches long. I am eagerly awaiting more pictures.
